OBJECTIVES
  • Given the generally recognized future expansion of air transport and the inevitable increased needs for aviation training, to highlight the importance of training as a necessary instrument in satisfying future demands for more capacity, safety and effective regulation.
  • Given the current fragmentation in training provision, to highlight the need for better coordination and cooperation between regulators , providers and academic institutions.
  • Given that a substantial percentage of air traffic is interregional, to highlight the need of cooperation between the various regions in achieving as much as possible common policies , practices and working arrangements  in training.
  • To discuss and possibly suggest practical ways in achieving the necessary coordination and cooperation between all the relevant stakeholders  (regulators, training centres, training Departments of airlines, airports, ANSPs, Academia e.t.c.), at regional as well as at interregional level.
